Malcolm Yeung, B.S. 1994

Executive Director, Chinatown Community Development Center – San Francisco, CA

1994 Major: Chemistry

How has being a Chemistry graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"My path has clearly diverged 180 from chemistry but having gone through a rigorous scientific training has made me “unafraid” to engage in the “analytics” component of community development work. IE - “numbers”"

What advice would you give students in Duke's Chemistry programs?

"It’s a foundation but not a limitation. Amidst all of the political and social science majors I interact with, my background in science always presents me with a different analytics framework from to approach my work."
