Contribute

The Department of Chemistry at Duke University has benefited greatly from philanthropic donations in support of our educational and research missions. These donations have come from alumni, companies, foundations, and other parties interested in advancing the study of chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, materials science, and other natural sciences at Duke. For example, the newly constructed French Family Science Center, which houses Chemistry, was funded in part by a large gift to the University from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Other gifts include donations to departmental endowments that support chemistry graduate and undergraduate students through fellowships and scholarships, as well as through educational development initiatives. Examples of such gifts include the Burroughs Wellcome Fellowship for Organic Chemistry, the P. M. Gross Fellowship, the Kenneth M. Gordon Endowment for Undergraduate Development, the John Herbert Pearson Endowment for Undergraduate Education Improvement, the Kathleen Zielik Fellowship, and many others.
