1999 Major: Chemistry; minor in Psychology
"I majored in Chemistry because it was a subject I loved in all of high school, I was influenced by my chemistry teacher and desired to continue in college. I was premed and desired to go to med school and took all courses to do so but my life took a turn toward a different direction to the psychological helping professions and ordained ministry. I am now a licensed professional counselor associate in the state of North Carolina and a doctor of ministry. . Being a chemistry major at Duke taught me the importance of precise decision making. Be able to make your decision, support your decision and own it. Additionally, being a chemistry major taught me to be fearless and unstoppable. If you can conquer PChem and AChem there is nothing in this world you can’t do!"
"Believe in yourself, be fearless and unstoppable. Change the world through Chemistry, teach the world through Chemistry remove the stigma of the hard sciences and show how they are relevant to everyday life. The world is waiting on you to make a difference!"
