Brittany Morgan Recognized for Excellence in Mentoring

Congratulations to Brittany Morgan, a Ph.D. candidate in the Hargrove Lab, for receiving a 2018 Dean's Award for Excellence in Mentoring! Brittany has guided undergraduate students in their career paths, mentored incoming graduate students and a number of undergraduates, assisting them in their research, networking, and personal development. The Department continues to be grateful for her participation in outreach activities that promote Chemistry and engage younger generations such as NC DNA Day program, Duke Action Camp, and Females Excelling More in Math, Engineering, and Science (FEMMES).  Brittany’s devotion to research (design, synthesis, and evaluation of small molecule libraries for the selective recognition of therapeutically relevant RNA) was recognized through the receipt of the Katherine Goodman Stern Fellowship and the Burroughs Wellcome Fellowship for Organic Chemistry. After graduation, Brittany will head to Michigan for a Postdoctoral fellowship. Congratulations, Brittany!
