How has being a Chemistry graduate from Duke helped shape your professional success?

"I received a high quality education that has prepared me for whatever I want to do. Starting in medicine, I had a great grasp on the basics on the basic sciences, and was as well prepared as any of my classmates. I know that with my degree and experience, I also would have been able to pursue graduate school or other endeavors had that been my desire."

What advice would you give students in Chemistry?

"Pursuing a degree in chemistry is challenging, but very rewarding. Get to know the faculty well, it is a friendly and intimate department. Take advantage of the many opportunities available to you, and do research in a field that you can see yourself going into. The research I did at Duke has been very useful for me as an aspiring physician."
