How has being a Chemistry graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"Being a Duke Chemistry graduate helped prepare me for the rigorous course load of medical school. Additionally, my experiences working in a chemistry laboratory and writing a thesis gave me a robust understanding of how to conduct research projects and how to write scientific articles."

What advice would you give students in Duke's Chemistry programs?

"Make the most out of your time in the lab. Chemistry makes a lot more sense when you perform the reactions yourself. The Chemistry course load at Duke is challenging, but you will make it through, and you will be proud of your accomplishment by the time you finish. Consider writing a thesis in your senior year!"
