Duke Career Center Internship Funding - Internships offer the practical engagement so critical to developing self-awareness, career-field knowledge, confidence, and skills--a critical combination for students making important decisions about their future pursuits. Through the generosity of corporate, individual, and class donors, Duke Career Center is able to offer grants ranging from $600 to $2,500 for students who accept unpaid or low-paying internships.

Education Exchange Corps - a non-profit organization that places college students in summer elementary school classrooms as teaching assistants, and in administrative internships at school district headquarters.

Summer Research

Trinity Deans' Summer Research Fellowship - Fellowships to support undergraduates in summer research. Students may use the funds toward room and board if staying in Durham to be engaged in their research or toward travel and lodging costs if their research requires their using archives or other resources away from campus.

Vanderbilt Summer Undergraduate Research in Chemical Biology - The Vanderbilt Summer Undergraduate Research in Chemical Biology progam is a ten week hands-on course designed to introduce chemistry, biochemistry and biology students to the research processes and the interdisciplinary nature of contemporary research. Students participate in a mini-symposium on drug discovery, attend seminars given by VICB faculty working across disciplinary lines and participate in weekly discussions on topics such as ethics.

Scholarships

The Merck Index Women in Chemistry Scholarships - $5000 grants to be awarded to outstanding women entering into a graduate program in Synthetic, Organic, or Medicinal Chemistry beginning in the Fall of 2010. Award recipients will receive a travel stipend to attend the ACS meeting and present their research.
