Travel Grants

GCC awards $200 travel grants to support chemistry graduate students traveling to both regional and national conferences to present scientific research. Download the application here.

Please note: Starting in September 2016, the application cycle will be condensed into one year-long cycle, with all applications due February 3, 2017 by 5pm. This cycle considers funding for all conferences between September 2016 and September 2017.

As stated in the application form, the eligibility requirements are as follows:

  1. You must be a Ph.D. Candidate in the Chemistry Department currently in good academic standing.
  2. The conference must be outside the RTP area, and the first day of the conference must be between September 1, 2016 - August 31, 2017, inclusively (Funding can be awarded retroactively.).
  3. You must be presenting/have presented at the conference (i.e., poster, talk, etc.).
  4. If eligible, you must have applied/will apply for the Graduate School’s Conference Travel Award.
