The Right Glove for the Job

The glove charts for the department of chemistry are organized in three ways. First, the physical characteristics of glove material is charted. In the second chart, glove material degradation in specific compounds is examined. Finally, the permeability of compounds in gloves is analyzed in chart three. Online Safety Training (OESO)

Required for anyone who will be working in a research lab

In order to have any building key issued, all three of the following online safety training courses must be completed, which includes taking the quiz at the end of each training course. Print out the pages that state you have passed each of the three training quizzes and bring them with you when having your safety release form signed and keys issued.  The safety training modules may be accessed by visiting the Duke Occupational & Environmental Safety Office site.  Click on "Training & Reports" and "Online Training".  You will log in using your NetID and password. 

  1. Chemical Safety – General
  2. Fire/Life Safety Training
  3. Laboratory Safety – General

Required for a staff member who will only be working in an office
